Redesigning SNB: A Modern, User-Centric E-Commerce Experience for Nigerian Shoppers

This brief case study details the redesign process of SNB, an e-commerce brand catering to Nigerian audiences. The redesign focused on improving typography, implementing a color palette resonant with the target market, and creating modern layouts to enhance appeal and usability. The result is a visually cohesive, engaging, and high-performing website tailored to its audience.

About SNB:
SNB is an e-commerce platform dedicated to providing a seamless shopping experience for Nigerian customers. However, the previous website design lacked modern appeal and usability, leading to a decline in user engagement and conversions.

Project Goals:

  • Improve the visual identity to resonate with Nigerian culture.
  • Enhance user experience with modern layouts and clear navigation.
  • Boost customer trust and conversion rates through a cohesive design.

Our Role: Ui redesign  and Brand Strategist.

Challenges Identified:

In summary our challenge was  first the font choices, they were inconsistent and difficult to read, negatively impacting user experience. We had an eye in the colours. The colors felt generic and failed to establish an emotional connection with Nigerian shoppers. Design layout  was the next we had to deal with, the site structure was cluttered, with unclear hierarchy, making navigation confusing.

The Redesign Process

User Research: We conducted surveys to understand what appeals to Nigerian e-commerce shoppers. Furthermore, Analyzed competitor sites popular in the region for inspiration.

Design Strategy: Creating a bold, warm color palette reflective of Nigerian culture (e.g., earthy tones, vibrant accents).

Use of  legible, modern typography to improve readability and brand perception. Next we Implement clean, structured layouts with a focus on product visibility and intuitive navigation.

Key Features of the New Design and Result

 We modified the Hero section  with bold, relatable imagery, was used and a direct CTA “Shop Now.”

Next we created a Dynamic product carousels showcasing top deals and latest picks. Use of high resolution images was taken into consideration. 

Metrics Comparison:

  • Bounce Rate: Decreased by 25%.
  • Session Duration: Increased by 40%.
  • Conversions: Improved by 30%
 

The redesign of SNB’s e-commerce website has transformed its digital presence, making it more engaging, user-friendly, and culturally relevant. This project demonstrates the power of thoughtful design in driving business outcomes and creating meaningful user experiences.
